The Divine is Always Speaking

The past few weeks for me have been an absolute whirlwind! We had an offer accepted on a house that we have been interested in for a while, and so therefore were somewhat unexpectedly thrown into the process of buying that house and selling our house. I have never sold a house before - we will be leaving our home of 27 years - and there is a lot to this, even for a local move!

I have been resetting and resetting with yoga nidra, pranayama, more yoga nidra over and over again, but for the first time in ages, I found myself absorbed almost solely in affairs of the physical world. It made me realize how lucky I am in my life to have plenty of time for practice and reflection. It has also been a great lesson for me to be immersed in this kind of life for a bit to see how it feels to be stretched so thin.

As you know by now, I normally tap into divine wisdom for much of my day, and I was trying to look for messages and signs, but with the mortgage, and the inspection, and the cleaning, and the next inspection, and the painting, and the cleaning and the packing and the reorganization, I was finding that I just couldn’t find that source!

So, last weekend, we went to Maine for the 4th of July. I love to go to Samudra yoga studio up there. A great group of open hearted teachers lead this community, but their style is completely different from mine! I am a big reader of poems in all of the classes and retreats that I lead, and Danna Faulds is my favorite. At Samudra, the love comes from the hearts of the teachers, but poems are rarely included. Friday afternoon, we lie down for relaxation, and, bam! the teacher reads my favorite Danna Faulds poem, which was the theme of my blog around this time last year!

This was an amazing gift - a whap on the head of sorts - reminding me that the divine is always speaking if we will just take even a second to stop and listen. Go back and read that blog! A gift from myself to myself. After that wake up call, I have again been able to receive divine guidance and assistance, and this whole process has improved tenfold.

I invite you, particularly if you are feeling disconnected from your source, to pause just enough so that you can connect to the divine flow. For me, the pause needed to be 3 full days, but it has certainly proven to be worth it.
