Gratitude

Thank goodness we don’t have to do life alone.

The past few weeks, several issues have had me reaching out to friends for advice. We’ve all been there on both ends of the “need help, give help” equation. The Internet is such a ready resource, but for me, my first thought is to contact a friend – my own personal “Angie’s List.” I think of someone I know who can help, and pick up the phone, or email, or text him or her. The personal connection, the caring, the honesty means so much. It provides such peace of mind that a friend can be there for me. That we can find an answer together. That perhaps she understands like no one else, because she’s been there, too.

And for that, for the selfless giving of help, for the compassion and the love of my friends, I am so grateful. As I type these words, my mind is filling with the faces of all those who have helped me recently. To each one, I am floating up a prayer of gratitude that they may receive the lovingkindness in their own lives that they have given me.

Who has helped you recently? What faces come to mind? May they feel your gratitude and know lovingkindness in their own lives, especially when they need it most.

Sono luce (I am light – and so are you!)

xo,
Angela
